A novel approach to the cylindrical lampshade, the Columbine Shade uses a hook-and-groove design that eliminates the need for glue or plastic when assembling. Four sheets of paper (two transparent and two opaque) are woven together using paper needles and slotted onto a plywood base.

The natural shapes complement the grain of the paper, while light radiates through the flower silhouettes. Paper needles add a functional yet ornamental touch. The exterior layer is made from 100% recycled cartridge paper, while the needles are made from 100% hemp paper.
